THE CHALLENGE

By 2050, 152 million people around the world are expected to live with dementia. Today, it’s 55 million. Last year, it was the leading cause of
death in England and Wales. Caring for people living with dementia is
exhausting, frustrating and often financially crippling. It currently costs the UK £34billion every year. By 2040, that cost is predicted to
reach £94billion.

Dementia is a headline every day. Many of your employees and customers will be affected by the disease. While new drugs are being developed to slow or prevent the disease, today, there is no cure.

We need a solution. Speed and fearlessness make for a strong Formula 1 driver. And a strong research scientist.

OUR FOUNDING STORY

Sir Jackie Stewart raced 99 grand prix and won three Formula 1 Driver’s World Championships. Trackside – stopwatch in hand – his wife Helen was with him for almost every mile raced.

In 2014 Helen, was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia. Steadfastly solutions-oriented, Sir Jackie was spurred into action – this has become, the “most important race of his life.”
